I haven't been on at all since my last post, so heres a little update.
Me, Sarah, Jodie, Nana, Mam and Shell took all the kids to flamingo land, it was an awesome day lots of rides, animals and laughter. The kids didn't want to come home. Lili was really good she didn't throw up in the mini bus on the way there or back and was so proud of herself because travel sickness is a pain to her.
Filming with Mr Bloom was awesome, the kids were really well behaved, said their lines nicely and had lots of fun, on the 16th August when we all went to Liverpool for the second day of filming, the veggies the kids had donated to the show was cooked and prepared a long side the donations of the other groups from Liverpool and York and somewhere else I didn't catch, the kids made new friends, had a feast, made music and lots of fun, we even stole ourselves a momento of the day, a little green veggie which may or may not be a pickle. And yes Lili chucked up both ways on the coach between Darlington and Middlesbrough.
September Lili started reception class, I cried my baby wasn't a baby and was growing up too fast, and I'm allowed to she's only small once and some firsts are a one time deal. So far we've had 1 incident of bullying which we quickly shut down even if I did have to threaten a mother who was adament her little boy wouldn't dare do that!.
We all went to fright night at light water valley on Halloween day, the kids all dressed up, Lili wanted to be a zombie kid so I made her outfit from old clothes and lots of fake blood she loved it, Sonnie ended up in Lilis werewolf outfit from the year before he was really impressed with the mask. Another day full of rides, barely any animals if your counting the farm animals but lots of laughter and photos, and we ended the day with tears by taking our small people into the scary house, lots of flashing lights and people jumping out on us and screaming it was awesome but the kids hated it. Then fireworks right before the park closed.
Christmas was a brilliant day, lots of prezzies, over flowing plates of dinner and lots of fun, after I dropped Lili in with my mam and dad I spent the night drinking, woke up hungover and spent boxing day drunk too the hangover the day after was brutal!!
Lili has come so far in school, not only is she able to write her full name from memory but she's able to write, read and say the alphabet, write and count to 50 count down from 20 and is learning more then and less than amounts. She knows 50 or more action words which she's incorporatong into sentences. Her speech isn't 100% but shes getting there
And get this after having 12 teeth out she's finally got a new tooth coming through and her 2 bottom front teeth are wobbling ready to fall out, she is sooo excited about that.
I can't believe the kids are breaking up from school for the summer in 7 days, the year has gone so fast. I got Lilis school report too, her teacher is pleased with her progress and has loved having her in class but a little disappointed with her attendance since she's had 8 sick days plus 2 afternoons off for hospital appointments.
Quick update on Sonnie, He is now more or less done until he's stopped growing and has his lip realigned, I think his parents are leaving the bone graft for his gum until he's old enough to choose for himself but being honest, its so shallow its actually unnoticeable and other than having no tooth there which also is unnoticeable, I'd leave it.

LILIS THIRD PALATE REPAIR ATTEMPT
On Tuesday 10th February I took Lili to Newcastles Royal Victoria Infirmary ready for her surgery the next day. After booking into the hospital room, we went for a wander, unfortunately my phone was in the shop being fixed so I missed out on getting some really good pictures on our wander. When we got back to the hospital at 5pm a woman from medi-cinema (the hospital has a built in cinema) they had rented the rights to show Big Hero 6 from Disney, and we were invited to go see it. Disney also paid for a caricaturist and a magician before the movie. We really enjoyed the movie and Lili was given a gift bag from Disney afterwards. The next morning Lili went into surgery and was back by 1.30pm. She had the buckle flap procedure, and 12 teeth out, She was spaced out on morphine bless her begging me to go bring her the toy kitchen from the playroom with ALL the dishes and food. The 13th was my cousin Callums 9th birthday We texted Nana to tell him.happy birthday, 14th another woman from medi-cinema came and invited us to watch shaun the sheep. It was a really good movie, even now Lili still begs to watch it and im sick to death of it. 16th the hospital discharged Lili and we were finally at home. I cant say enough good things about the buckle flap procedure, it was the best decision we made. Lilis speech was improved enormously, Lili was back at school after 23 days or so and we found Lilis confidence to speak openly to others has improved alot. So much so I let her audition for Mr Blooms nursery with Cbeebies, and she got accepted. The 12th of August the team are coming out to film with Lili, Lacey, Tj, Frankie and James who are all friends of Lilis. Then on the 16th Cbeebies are paying for the travel to Liverpool to do more filming. All the kids are excited and to be honest so am I, its exciting to see Lili advance into areas I never thought possible. 29 days from now is Lilis 5th birthday and a couple of days later she will start reception class, I don't know what I'll do with myself having 6 hours all to myself.

INSPIRATIONAL VIDEOS/POSTS/PAGES
Some of the links posted are made by cleft charities. Cleft lips and/or palates are thought to be rare occurrences, in the UK the number stands at 1 in 700 which is around 1000 children each year. I know that countries such as the UK and America have amazing health care systems. But alot of countries don't, most family's can save all month and still not be able to eat ok for a week. Never mind travel and pay for health care for a condition so easily fixed. Charities such as The Smile Train and Operation Smile fundraise so that children and adults alike can have the surgery they need to survive and thrive.

LOOKING BACK
Its unbelievable that 3 years ago in 15 days time that is, Lili finally had her first cleft surgery. All the waiting and anxiety was over, and i realised exactly what other parents had warned me about. I feel now that i can talk about my feelings about this surgery although most people would raise their eyebrows at the fact im being open dispite the fact that its the truth and alot of parents have felt the same even if they denied it to others. I hated the fact that i allowed Lili to have the surgery and i hated the baby that Lili became because of the surgery and i hated the surgery itself. I hated that i allowed the surgery to happen because it was to make her look "more normal" and she looked normal to me i loved her wide smile and 3 years on i desperately miss it. I hate the surgery its self because she didn't look like my baby anymore, 3 years on shes become her own person shes taken on actual features of both me and her dad aswell as extended family and shes got her own features too. And i hated the baby that Lili became because of the surgery because id grown to enjoy her sleeping through, the fact she almost never cried, Lili enjoyed sitting on her own and playing allowing me to do things on my own. After the surgery she cried almost non-stop i wasn't able to do a thing without her being on my hip and she was up and down every other hour. And it wasn't just after the surgery and because she was in pain it continued long after even now 3 years on im unable to lift a finger with her knowing and im not exaggerating. Although she has finally grew out of crying non-stop which is a relief even if it has changed to some rather annoying questions of where are you going and what are you doing if i so much as fidget.
